Within how many days must a Commission decide a case brought before it?

The Constitutional Commissions are subjected to a strict deadline for resolving cases. Each Commission must decide any case or matter brought before it within a period of sixty days. The decision requires a majority vote of all the members constituting the Commission. This mandatory timeline for case resolution is prescribed by Article IX, A, Section 7 1987 Philippine Constitution. “SECTION 7. Each Commission shall decide by a majority vote of all its Members any case or matter brought before it within sixty days from the date of its submission for decision or resolution.” 06-Mar-26
