Atty. Krisanto Karlo Nicolas, one of the Founding Partners, obtained his Juris Doctor degree in Law from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where he graduated with Honors and was awarded the Silver Medal Second Honors award. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
Karlo specializes in information technology law, corporate law and commercial litigation and arbitration, franchise law, data privacy, tax law, labor and employment law and admiralty and maritime law. He has guided hundreds of companies do business legally in the Philippines. Furthermore, his legal opinions on a wide array of corporate concerns have been instrumental in the success of the Firm’s clientele. In addition, he is an expert on data privacy law and has assisted companies on data privacy compliance. His vast knowledge on computer operations and programming coupled with his educational background on computer engineering has made him one of the sought-after lawyers on information technology law and data privacy law.
A multi-skilled lawyer, Karlo is also an experienced litigator, having handled countless civil, criminal and administrative cases before various courts and quasi-judicial tribunals in the country. He has successfully defended clients from frivolous and untruthful claims. With an almost perfect winning average, Karlo has helped hundreds of clients claim their legal rights.
Before forming the firm, Karlo was connected with Sycip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan Law Offices, where he practiced Litigation, Labor and Employment Law, Corporate Law and Corporate Services, and Intellectual Property law.
Aside from legal work, he is also the host of the radio show entitled “Ang Buhay at Batas” aired live on television and at DZRJ 810AM Teleradyo every Tuesday (12-1p.m.) together with Atty. Nikki de Vega. Likewise, he is currently a regular columnist and legal adviser for the magazine Franchise Today. He also writes as a regular columnist for the publication Builders Today.
Karlo was a professorial lecturer at the De La Salle Graduate School of Business -Far Eastern University Institute of Law, the Philippines’ first Juris Doctor-M.B.A. program, where he taught Legal Ethics. He also served as a thesis/dissertation defense panelist for the same esteemed academic institution.
Pertinently, he was President of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Uptown from 2015-2016 and Assistant Governor for Rotary District 3800 from 2018-2019.
