Who holds the primary responsibility for providing aptitude tests to apprentice-applicants?

The selection of apprentices requires careful assessment of the applicants’ minimum qualifications through appropriate scientific testing mechanisms. The law clearly assigns the primary responsibility for this critical testing phase to the specific entities running the programs. Employers or entities with duly recognized apprenticeship programs are the ones primarily tasked with providing appropriate aptitude tests. This primary responsibility for proper applicant selection and testing is defined in Article 68 Labor Code of the Philippines. “ART. 68. Aptitude Testing of Applicants. – Consonant with the minimum qualifications of apprentice-applicants required under this Chapter, employers or entities with duly recognized apprenticeship programs shall have primary responsibility for providing appropriate aptitude tests in the selection of apprentices.” 31-May-26
