What is the absolute maximum duration for the practical training period of a learner?

The learnership program is uniquely designed to be a brief, intensive period of practical training for basic semi-skilled roles. Because the occupations involved are non-apprenticeable and relatively straightforward, the training period is strictly limited by the state. The practical training on the job for learners is mandated to be conducted in a relatively short period of time. Specifically, this legal training period shall not exceed three months, as expressly mandated by Article 73 Labor Code of the Philippines. “…which may be learned through practical training on the job in a relatively short period of time which shall not exceed three (3) months.” 31-May-26
