What constitutes a “collective work”?
A collective work is one created by two or more natural persons at the initiative and under the direction of another entity. According to Section 171.2 Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, the work is disclosed by the directing party under their own name. In this arrangement, the contributing natural persons are typically not identified individually. This structure allows a central coordinator to manage the resulting compilation as a single work. “171.2.
