Under what circumstances is waiting time counted as compensable working time?

Waiting time is counted as compensable working time if waiting is an integral part of the employee’s job. This rule is explicitly detailed in Rule I, Book III of the Omnibus Rules Implementing the Labor Code of the Philippines. The time is also compensable if the employer specifically requires or engages the employee to wait. In these situations, the employee is considered to be working while waiting. 15-May-26
