Is it generally lawful for a licensed recruiter to charge a massive amount far greater than the specified allowable fees?

Charging exceptionally excessive fees is a deeply serious criminal offense in modern recruitment. The strict law heavily regulates exactly how much an authorized agency can legally collect from a poor applicant. It is utterly unlawful to casually charge or gladly accept entirely any excessive amount strictly greater than what is legally specified. This highly specific, deeply prohibited practice is clearly identified in Article 34 Labor Code of the Philippines. “ART. 34. Prohibited Practices. – It shall be unlawful for any individual, entity, licensee, or holder of authority: (a) To charge or accept, directly or indirectly, any amount greater than that specified in the schedule of allowable fees…” 30-May-26
