How is a “computer program” defined?
A computer program consists of a set of instructions expressed in words, codes, or schemes. Section 171.4 Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines states that these instructions are capable of causing a computer to perform a specific task. To be functional, the program must be incorporated into a medium that the computer can read. It is protected as a literary work under the law. “171.4.
