How can a person aid customs officers in enforcing trademark prohibitions?

Any person entitled to the benefits of the Act can record their name, residence, and manufacturing locality in books kept by the Bureau of Customs. They may also furnish facsimiles of their registered mark or trade name to the Bureau to assist in the identification of infringing goods. Section 166 Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines provides this mechanism to streamline the enforcement process at points of entry. This proactive step helps customs officers stop counterfeit items before they reach local distributors,. “In order to aid the officers of the customs service in enforcing this prohibition, any person… may require that his name… certificate of registration… be recorded in books”   January 7, 2026
