How are highly technical patent cancellation cases heard within the IPO?
For highly technical issues, a specialized committee may be constituted. Section 64, Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, allows the Director of Legal Affairs, on motion of any party, to order that the petition be heard and decided by a committee composed of the Director as chair and two members with expertise in the relevant technology.
