How are amendments or corrections to a patent formally implemented and publicized?

Amendments and corrections are implemented via a separate certificate. Section 60, Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, states that such amendment or correction shall be accomplished by a certificate authenticated by the Office’s seal and signed by the Director, which is attached to the patent. Notice of the amendment or correction must be published in the IPO Gazette, and copies of the patent kept or furnished by the Office must include the certificate. This ensures transparency and that all public copies reflect the updated status of the patent.   21-Dec-25
