Who is covered by the thirteenth-month pay law?

All employers are generally required to pay their rank-and-file employees the thirteenth-month pay. This requirement applies regardless of the nature of their employment and irrespective of the methods by which their wages are paid. According to Presidential Decree No. 851, the only condition is that the employee must have worked for at least one month during a calendar year. Thus, the law provides broad financial protection for the vast majority of regular workers. 17-May-26
