Who is authorized by law to sponsor an apprenticeship program?
The law provides a broad list of entities that are authorized to sponsor and undertake apprenticeship schemes. A single employer or a specific firm can independently initiate and support an apprenticeship program. Alternatively, a group or association of employers, as well as civic organizations, can collaboratively sponsor these training initiatives. The specific entities allowed to sponsor such programs are enumerated in Article 64 Labor Code of the Philippines. “ART. 64. Sponsoring of Apprenticeship Program. – Any of the apprenticeship schemes recognized herein may be undertaken or sponsored by a single employer or firm or by a group or association thereof or by a civic organization.” 31-May-26About Nicolas and De Vega Law Offices
