The law carefully and rigorously prescribes specific formal venues where a marriage ceremony must generally be publicly held. The marriage shall absolutely be solemnized publicly in the distinct chambers of the judge or in open court. It may also logically be solemnized in a church, chapel, temple, or in the consular office.
