The Ombudsman has the power to direct any public official or employee to perform and expedite any act or duty required by law. Conversely, the Ombudsman can also direct them to stop, prevent, and correct any abuse or impropriety in their duties. This directive power applies to all subdivisions, agencies, and government-owned or controlled corporations with original charters.
