What must spouses do to formalize their reconciliation during legal separation proceedings?

The law provides a formal legal procedure for separated spouses who genuinely wish to restore their marital relationship. If the spouses should reconcile, they must explicitly file a corresponding joint manifestation under oath. This duly signed legal document must be filed with the court in the exact same proceeding for legal separation. This procedural requirement for reconciliation is found in Article 65 Family Code of the Philippines. “Art. 65. If the spouses should reconcile, a corresponding joint manifestation under oath duly signed by them shall be filed with the court in the same proceeding for legal separation. (n)” 31-Jul-26
