What must a member do if a conflict of interest arises from legislation?

What must a member do if a conflict of interest arises from legislation?   Members must notify their respective House of any potential conflict of interest. This occurs when they are authors of a proposed legislation that may affect their interests. This ensures that the legislative process remains fair and unbiased. This obligation is detailed in Article VI, Section 12 1987 Philippine Constitution.   “They shall notify the House concerned of a potential conflict of interest that may arise from the filing of a proposed legislation of which they are authors.”   01-Feb-26
