What are the constitutional protections regarding religion?

No law shall be enacted that establishes a state religion or prohibits the free exercise of any religious belief. The free exercise and enjoyment of religious profession and worship shall be allowed forever without discrimination. No individual shall be required to pass a religious test to exercise their civil or political rights. As provided in Article III Section 5 1987 Philippine Constitution, these provisions guarantee religious freedom for all citizens.   “SECTION 5. No law shall be made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The free exercise and enjoyment of religious profession and worship, without discrimination or preference, shall forever be allowed. No religious test shall be required for the exercise of civil or political rights.”   28-Jan-26
