We discuss in this article the procedure to be appointed as Legal Guardian of a Minor. In the Philippines, the law provides that the father and the mother shall jointly exercise legal guardianship over the person and property of their minor child wihtout court appointment. If the parents are not available, the court-appointed guardian acts in their stead, in all matters where the decision of a parent is required.
