Must the public be informed if the President has a serious illness?

The health of the nation’s leader is considered a matter of public concern. In cases of serious illness, the public must be officially informed about the state of the President’s health. This ensures transparency regarding the leader’s capability to continue their work. It is a constitutional mandate intended to keep the citizens aware of executive stability. Article VII Section 12 1987 Philippine Constitution   “SECTION 12. In case of serious illness of the President, the public shall be informed of the state of his health.”   03-Feb-26
