Is the President allowed to seek re-election after their term?

The Constitution provides a very strict rule regarding the tenure of the President to prevent the concentration of power. The President is not eligible for any re-election at any time. Once their six-year term is completed, they must step down from the office permanently. This provision is a safeguard designed to promote leadership turnover in the executive branch. Article VII Section 4 1987 Philippine Constitution   “The President shall not be eligible for any reelection.”   03-Feb-26
