No, registration and deposit are not conditions for copyright protection in the Philippines. Section 191 Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines allows for deposit at any time during the copyright subsistence. The purpose is mainly to complete the records of the National Library and Supreme Court Library. Even without deposit, the author still holds all rights granted by the Code. “SEC. 191.
