Is it possible to obtain a patent if the inventor is not identified in the application?

A patent cannot be granted if the application does not identify the inventor. Section 32.2, Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, explicitly states that no patent may be granted unless the inventor is identified, and if the applicant is not the inventor, the Office may require proof of authority to apply. This requirement protects the rights and recognition of the true inventor. It also supports proper entitlement and later correction of inventorship if disputes arise.   21-Dec-25
