In cases of threats, what additional measure may the person making the threat be required to do?
In all cases falling under Grave threats and Light threats, the person making the threats may also be required to give bail (security) not to molest the person threatened (Article 284, Revised Penal Code). This provision aims to provide immediate physical and psychological security to the victim. If the offender fails to give such bail as required by the court, they shall be sentenced to destierro (banishment).
