How is the penalty for an attempt to commit Parricide, Murder, or Homicide determined?
Similar to frustrated crimes, the courts may reduce the penalty for an attempt to commit Parricide, Murder, or Homicide (Article 250, Revised Penal Code). The courts, again considering the specific facts of the case, are empowered to reduce the penalty by one degree. This reduction is based on the penalty that would ordinarily be imposed under Article 51 of the Code for an attempt.
