How is holiday pay legally calculated for employees strictly paid on a piece-rate basis?

For workers paid explicitly by results, the rules under Article 94 of the Labor Code of the Philippines provide a highly specific formula for holiday pay. Their mandatory holiday pay shall absolutely not be less than their average daily earnings for the last seven actual work days immediately preceding the regular holiday. Furthermore, the law strictly mandates that in no case shall this calculated holiday pay ever fall lower than the applicable statutory minimum wage rate. This ensures that piece-rate workers legally enjoy a standardized economic safety net during mandated national holidays. 15-May-26
