Can the responsibility for theoretical instruction be delegated by the employer?
Employers are not always equipped or staffed to teach the academic or theoretical components of an apprenticeable trade. The law provides a practical alternative if the employer is simply not prepared to assume this instructional responsibility. In such circumstances, the task of providing necessary theoretical instruction may be officially delegated to another competent entity. Specifically, it can be delegated to an appropriate government agency, as expressly permitted by Article 69 Labor Code of the Philippines. “If the latter is not prepared to assume the responsibility, the same may be delegated to an appropriate government agency.” 31-May-26About Nicolas and De Vega Law Offices
