Can the President appoint relatives to government positions?
There are specific anti-nepotism rules that apply during the President’s tenure. The President’s spouse and close relatives cannot be appointed to high-level government roles. This prohibition covers relatives within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity. These roles include heads of bureaus, constitutional commissions, and the Office of the Ombudsman.
