Can a corporate body be presumed as the maker of an audiovisual work?

A corporate body whose name appears on an audiovisual work in the usual manner is presumed to be the maker. This legal presumption holds true unless there is evidence to prove otherwise. It simplifies rights management for films and other produced media. This presumption is stated in Section 219.2 Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.   “219.2. The person or body corporate whose name appears on an audiovisual work in the usual manner shall… be presumed to be the maker of said work.”   January 8, 2026
