Are temporary employees of the government given any legal protection?

Even individuals employed by the government on a temporary basis are recognized by the law. The Constitution mandates that temporary employees of the Government shall definitely be given protection. The specific extent and nature of this protection are to be provided by corresponding legislation. This directive to protect temporary workers is found in Article IX, B, Section 2 1987 Philippine Constitution. “(6) Temporary employees of the Government shall be given such protection as may be provided by law.” 06-Mar-26
