Are lectures and training programs considered compensable working time?
Attendance at lectures, meetings, and training programs is not counted as working time if specific conditions are met simultaneously. Rule I, Book III of the Omnibus Rules Implementing the Labor Code of the Philippines outlines these exact conditions. The attendance must be voluntary, outside regular working hours, and involve no productive work. If any of these three conditions are not met, the time spent attending must be compensated. 15-May-26About Nicolas and De Vega Law Offices
