Why are unfair labor practices considered harmful to industrial peace?

Unfair labor practices strike at the very core of labor-management relations and constitutional guarantees. They blatantly violate the constitutional right of workers and employees to freely self-organize. Furthermore, they disrupt industrial peace and hinder the promotion of a healthy, stable working environment. This disruptive concept is explained in Article 258 Labor Code of the Philippines to justify strict prohibitions. “ART. 258. Concept of Unfair Labor Practice and Procedure for Prosecution Thereof. – Unfair labor practices violate the constitutional right of workers and employees to self-organization, are inimical to the legitimate interests of both labor and management… disrupt industrial peace and hinder the promotion of healthy and stable labor-management relations.” 01-Jun-26
