When will an injury or death not be compensated?
Under Presidential Decree No. 626 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, specific scenarios strictly disallow compensation entirely. ECP benefits are absolutely denied if the injury or death is directly due to intoxication. Willful explicit intention to mentally injure oneself or another also completely nullifies the legal claim.
