When is an enforcement officer required to notify a copyright owner about a seizure?
An authorized officer must notify the copyright owner or their agent if articles are seized under a valid search. This applies when items or packaging are suspected of violating the Intellectual Property Code. Notification should occur wherever it is reasonably practicable to do so.
