What is the term of a Philippine patent, and from what date is it computed?

The term of a Philippine patent is fixed at twenty years. Section 54, Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, states that the term shall be twenty years from the filing date of the application. This is a uniform and non?extendable term for invention patents under the Code. The filing date, not the grant or publication date, serves as the starting point for computing the duration.   21-Dec-25
