What is the right of the data subject regarding access to their personal information?

Data subjects possess the fundamental right to demand reasonable and direct access to the contents of their processed personal information. They can proactively request to know the exact sources from which their personal information was originally obtained and the names of its recipients. Additionally, they inherently have the right to be fully informed about the technical manner by which their data was processed and the specific reasons for its disclosure. This robust and comprehensive right to access personal data is firmly guaranteed under Section 16 Data Privacy Act. “(c) Reasonable access to, upon demand, the following: (1) Contents of his or her personal information that were processed; (2) Sources from which personal information were obtained; (3) Names and addresses of recipients of the personal information; (4) Manner by which such data were processed; (5) Reasons for the disclosure of the personal information to recipients;” 21-May-26
