What is the penalty for a business that fails to pay prescribed wage increases?

A business that refuses or fails to pay prescribed wage increases faces significant penalties. According to Republic Act No. 8188, violators can be punished by a fine ranging from ₱25,000.00 to ₱100,000.00. Alternatively, they may face imprisonment of two to four years, or both a fine and imprisonment at the court’s discretion. Furthermore, any person convicted under this law is strictly denied the benefits of the Probation Law. 15-May-26
