What comprises the national territory of the Philippines?

  The national territory includes the entire Philippine archipelago and all the islands and waters found within it. It also consists of all other territories where the Philippines exercises sovereignty or jurisdiction. This includes terrestrial, fluvial, and aerial domains, alongside the territorial sea and seabed. According to Article I 1987 Philippine Constitution, the waters connecting the islands are considered internal waters regardless of their dimensions.   “The national territory comprises the Philippine archipelago, with all the islands and waters embraced therein, and all other territories over which the Philippines has sovereignty or jurisdiction, consisting of its terrestrial, fluvial, and aerial domains, including its territorial sea, the seabed, the subsoil, the insular shelves, and other submarine areas. The waters around, between, and connecting the islands of the archipelago, regardless of their breadth and dimensions, form part of the internal waters of the Philippines.”   30-Jan-26
