Impeachable officials may be removed upon conviction of culpable violation of the Constitution, treason, or bribery. They may also be impeached for graft and corruption, other high crimes, or betrayal of public trust. These severe offenses are the only constitutionally recognized grounds for initiating an impeachment trial. These specific grounds for removal are clearly established in Article XI, Section 2, 1987 Philippine Constitution. “SECTION 2.
