The Privacy Commissioner must be at least thirty-five years of age and importantly possess a good moral character. Furthermore, the appointed individual must demonstrate unquestionable integrity and known probity in their professional and personal life. The appointee must also be a highly recognized expert in the specific and specialized fields of information technology and data privacy.
