A layout-design registration can be cancelled if it is not protectable under the Act or if the holder is not entitled to protection. Section 120 Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines also allows cancellation if the application was not filed within two years of first commercial exploitation. If grounds for cancellation only affect part of the design, only that specific part of the registration is cancelled. Cancelled registrations are regarded as null and void from the very beginning. “120.3.
