What are the consequences of disputing copyright ownership in bad faith?
If a defendant disputes copyright subsistence or ownership without good faith, the court may impose financial penalties. The court can direct that the defendants own costs for the action not be allowed. Additionally, the defendant may be ordered to pay the costs incurred by other parties due to the delay.
