Is the government allowed to grant titles of royalty?

Is the government allowed to grant titles of royalty?   No law shall be enacted that grants any title of royalty or nobility. This ensures the republican and egalitarian nature of the Philippine state. It prevents the creation of a legally recognized aristocratic class. This prohibition is stated in Article VI, Section 31 1987 Philippine Constitution.   “SECTION 31. No law granting a title of royalty or nobility shall be enacted.”   01-Feb-26
