How long can a director or trustee of a homeowners’ association hold office?
Section 15 (d) of Republic Act No. 9904, otherwise known as the Magna Carta for Homeowners and Homeowners’ Associations states that the term of office of the members of the board of trustees of directors of the homeowners’ association shall not exceed two (2) years.
Moreover, Section 72 of Department Circular No. 2024-018, series of 2024, also known as the 2024 Revised Implementing Rules of the Magna Carta for Homeowners issued by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, mandates that no members of the Board of trustees or directors shall serve for more than two (2) consecutive terms.
