How is the Office of the Ombudsman composed in terms of its deputies?

The Office of the Ombudsman is composed of the Ombudsman and several deputies representing different regions. Specifically, there is one overall Deputy and at least one Deputy each for the regions of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Additionally, a separate Deputy for the military establishment may likewise be appointed. This organizational structure is explicitly detailed in Article XI, Section 5, 1987 Philippine Constitution. “…composed of the Ombudsman to be known as Tanodbayan, one overall Deputy and at least one Deputy each for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. A separate Deputy for the military establishment may likewise be appointed.” 06-Mar-26
