How is the marriage certificate signed if a party is at the point of death?
The law provides highly specific special procedures for marriages properly contracted in articulo mortis or at the point of death. In such dire cases, if the party at the point of death is physically unable to sign the marriage certificate, an alternative is allowed. It shall be legally sufficient for one of the witnesses to the marriage to write the name of said party. This significant fact shall then be attested by the solemnizing officer, as permitted under Article 6 Family Code of the Philippines. “Art. 6.
