How does the law define an Integrated Circuit?

  An Integrated Circuit refers to a product in its final or intermediate form containing active and interconnection elements. Section 112 Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines requires that at least one of these elements be active. These elements and interconnections must be integrally formed in or on a piece of material. The specific purpose of this integrated structure is to perform an electronic function.   “2. Integrated Circuit means a product, in its final form, or an intermediate form, in which the elements, at least one of which is an active element and some or all of the interconnections are integrally formed in and/or on a piece of material, and which is intended to perform an electronic function;”   January 3, 2026
