Does marrying an alien cause a citizen to lose their citizenship?

Citizens of the Philippines who marry aliens shall retain their Philippine citizenship. They only lose it if they perform an act or omission that is deemed a renunciation under the law. Marriage itself is not a ground for the automatic loss of one’s national identity. According to Article IV Section 4 1987 Philippine Constitution, citizenship is preserved despite such marriages.   “SECTION 4. Citizens of the Philippines who marry aliens shall retain their citizenship, unless by their act or omission they are deemed, under the law, to have renounced it.”   28-Jan-26
