Does a data subject have the right to legally object to automated processing or profiling?

Yes, the data subject undoubtedly possesses the fundamental and absolute right to firmly object to the processing of his or her personal data for various complex operations. This explicit legal right clearly includes objecting to intensive processing used for direct marketing, entirely automated processing, or sophisticated profiling algorithms. Should the protected data subject formally object, the personal information controller must immediately cease processing the data, subject only to very narrow and specific legal exceptions.
